DIVORCE & FAMILY LAW
Lindsey approaches every family law matter with the belief that the parties, rather than the Court, are in the best position to decide the result of their case. Lindsey encourages quick and efficient settlement agreements, and welcomes the use of mediation or other alternative dispute resolution strategies when possible. However, just as every marriage requires hard work and give-and-take from both spouses, a divorce also "takes two." The firm advises clients of their rights, explains the legal process in layman's terms to assist the client in making intelligent case decisions within their budget, and zealously advocates for clients from the start of the case through trial.
In 2015 and 2016, the National Association of Family Law Attorneys named Attorney Buchheit as a Top 10 Under Forty Attorney in the State of Iowa.

BUSINESS LAW
Business law tackles a wide range of legal issues for business owners. Questions you may be asking include:
- My colleague and I are starting a business. I’m sure things will work out but I’ve heard we should get a written agreement. What documents do I need to protect myself?
- What documents and how often do I need to file with the Secretary of State to keep my business active?
- What's the difference between a sole proprietorship, corporation, limited liability company, and partnership?
- How do I know whether our business contract is enforceable and compliant with state law?
Attorney Buchheit is the former Vice Chair of the Advisory Board for the State of Iowa Small Business Development Center (SBDC). The Sioux City SBDC started operations in 1985, and is hosted at the Western Iowa Tech Community College. It is one of 15 regional business assistance centers statewide and serves small business needs in Cherokee, Crawford, Ida, Monona, Plymouth and Woodbury counties.
